According to the Japan Record Association, ILLIT surpassed 1 billion cumulative streams as of May with its first Japanese original song "Almond Chocolate" on the 25th. The track received "Platinum" certification in the streaming category. The Japan Record Association grants monthly certifications—Platinum (100 million streams or more), Double Platinum (200 million streams or more), and Diamond (500 million streams or more)—based on cumulative streams in the streaming category. "Almond Chocolate" was released in February last year. The melancholic melody combined with the members' clear vocals earned love from both critics and the public. In approximately five months, it achieved Gold certification (50 million streams or more). It continued to gain popularity thereafter and swept numerous year-end charts last year. At the 67th "Shine! Japan Record Awards," it was the only song by a foreign artist to win the Excellence Award. ILLIT has received a total of three streaming certifications from the Japan Record Association so far. Its debut song "Magnetic" previously achieved Double Platinum certification approximately 10 months after release. This was a record for the shortest time among female group songs ever. The mini-first album B-side "Lucky Girl Syndrome" also earned Gold certification, showcasing its presence. The members will accelerate their Japan activities this summer. They will hold their first tour, "ILLIT LIVE 'PRESS START♥︎' in JAPAN," touring five Japanese cities through next month. A new release is also upcoming. ILLIT will release the full tracklist of its second Japanese single "I Got Your Back" on the 26th of next month. On the 29th, it will also be released as a physical album.
