[Dispatch=Park Hye-jin Reporter] JYP Entertainment (hereinafter JYP) donated 300 million won to support recovery from the Venezuela earthquake disaster.
On the 26th, JYP announced, "We have donated 300 million won to World Vision, an international relief and development NGO, for emergency relief of the Venezuela earthquake disaster."
Venezuela suffered damage from a major earthquake on the 24th. A series of earthquakes struck Venezuela. Deaths exceeded 900 in two days. As of the morning of that day, the number of injured exceeded 3,000, and displaced persons exceeded 4,000.
JYP's donation will be used to provide food and necessities, clean water and sanitation support, and child psychological and emotional support for affected children and residents.
JYP stated, "We hope to be a small source of strength for children and residents who have lost their homes due to this unexpected disaster," and "We sincerely pray that the region will regain stability as soon as possible and safely recover daily life."
JYP maintains a consistent culture of donations, not one-time events. Last year, it supported damage from wildfires in Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk, earthquake relief in Myanmar, and fires in Hong Kong. It donated a total of over 1.1 billion won.
In 2023, it donated 500 million won for Turkey and Syria earthquake relief, 300 million won in 2022 for wildfire damage in Gangwon and Gyeongbuk regions, and 500 million won in 2020 for COVID-19 spread prevention donations.
The 'EDM' (Every Dream Matters!) campaign is also underway. It is a medical expense support project for children and youth.
