[Dispatch=Lee Myeong-ju] Actors Yoo Hae-Jin, Park Hae-il, and Minho will appear in a work based on modern Korean history.
Distribution company Hive Media Corp announced on the 30th that the film "Assassin(s)" (director Hur Jin-ho), starring the three actors, has confirmed its Chuseok release this year.
"Assassin(s)" is a mystery thriller. It traces the suspicion of a First Lady shooting incident that was broadcast live nationwide on August 15, 1974, and the forces behind it.
Yoo Hae-Jin takes on the role of Cheol-gu, a detective who was in charge of security at the scene of the incident. He is a character who questions the investigation headquarters' announcements that conflict with what he witnessed.
Park Hae-il plays Jae-hwan, the deputy director of a newspaper's social affairs department. With professional sense of duty and sharp insight, he approaches the truth of the incident despite fierce pressure.
Minho takes on the role of Young-il, an ambitious new reporter. He plays a character who boldly rushes into danger to find the truth of the incident.
Director Hur Jin-ho is in charge of direction. Director Hur has meticulously explored figures and events through works such as "The Last Princess" and "Heavenly Inquiry."
Top production crew from various fields have also joined. Cinematographer Lee Mo-gae and lighting director Lee Sung-hwan team up once again following "Spring in Seoul" and "Exhumation."
Meanwhile, "Assassin(s)" is scheduled for release this Chuseok.
