Actors Park Se-young and Han have returned to home screens after a long hiatus. It tells the story of children bearing the wounds of their parents' choices as they overcome prejudice and find their own paths in life.

It does not repeat familiar melodrama formulas. While infidelity is the subject matter, the focus is not on the infidelity itself but on those who have been hurt by it. It concentrates on how children overcome the wounds left by their parents' desires.

Park Se-young and Han meet as a mistress and her daughter in the drama, depicting a complex mother-daughter relationship. The two actors expressed confidence in their chemistry, saying "just making eye contact made us emotional."

On the afternoon of the 2nd, the production team of MBC-TV's new daily drama "Family Relation Certificate" held a production presentation at MBC Golden Mouse Hall in Sangam, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Actors Park Se-young, Han, Lim Ji-eun, Sung Yi-eon, Park Solar, and PD Kim Mi-sook attended.

"Family Relation Certificate" is a human revenge drama. It depicts the story of a child branded from birth as the one who destroyed the family, standing against prejudice to reclaim their own life.

Park Se-young plays Jin, a genius Korean painter. She appears like a silver spoon born to a famous cellist mother and director father, but lives with deep wounds caused by her parents' infidelity.

It is her return after approximately 4 years. Park Se-young recalled, "Through pregnancy and childbirth, I spent a lot of time with my child," and "now I wanted to work again as an actress."

She said, "I read the script very carefully," and "Jin does not hide within prejudice. What stayed with me was how she designs her own life and moves forward with confidence," revealing her motivation for choosing the work.

Han likewise returns after a 3-year hiatus. She takes on the role of cellist Solar with passionate performance. She is a character who fell in love with married man Mingi (played by Jeon No-min), had a child, but lived by justifying her choice.

She said, "There is a line of dialogue that goes, 'If you got the first button wrong, do you take off the whole outfit? Just insist it's fashion,'" and explained, "It's a character with strong stubbornness to make everything her own until the end."

She continued, "I liked that good and evil are not simply divided," and "every character has their own reasons. The process unfolds without frustration," revealing her confidence in the work.

Her mother-daughter chemistry with Park Se-young was also exceptional. She said, "Since we're both introverted, at first we were quite cautious," and "As filming progressed, it became more poignant. I thought, 'If I become a mother, this must be how it feels,'" she said.

Park Se-young also said, "I'm not usually a very tearful person, but in scenes with mom, indescribable emotions kept welling up," and "I experienced my heart moving without any conscious thought," resonating with the sentiment.

PD Kim Mi-sook said, "The setting itself of illegitimacy was heavy," and "I gave it a lot of thought about how to convincingly portray the reality of a child born with no sin other than their birth bearing social stigma," she revealed.

She continued, "Jin is a person who overcomes her wounds and moves forward, while Solar is a character who endures while hiding her wounds," and emphasized, "Rather than the incident of infidelity, I wanted to show how each person lives with their wounds."

Park Se-young said, "It's a work that makes you reconsider whether family is completed only through blood relations or through relationships and effort," and asked, "Please watch as the relationships between the characters continue to change."

Han said, "If you miss the middle, you'd think, 'What happened?', the development is so fast," and asked, "It's a spectacular and suspense-filled story, so please stay with us without skipping to the very end."

PD Kim Mi-sook expressed confidence, saying, "The actors' solid performances and realistic emotional lines are our greatest competitive advantage," and "I will portray wounded characters blooming again with credibility until the end."

"Family Relation Certificate" airs its first episode on the 6th at 7:05 p.m.
