[Dispatch=Lee Myeong-ju] Director Na Hong-jin's new film "Hope" continues to lead in advance ticket reservations.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated cinema ticketing system, "Hope" had 112,609 advance reservations as of 8 a.m. on the 7th. The reservation rate is 45.2%, placing it at number one.
The figures demonstrated it is this year's most anticipated film. With more than a week remaining until release, it has opened up more than a twofold gap compared to "Moana," which opens earlier.
The film is Director Na Hong-jin's fourth feature film. It was invited to the competition section of the 79th Cannes International Film Festival, where it had its world premiere.
Although it did not win any awards, it received praise from domestic and international critics. The New York Times described it as "unstoppable blockbuster adrenaline."
Variety also praised it as "a work featuring breathtakingly elegant action direction that ranks among the finest not only of this year but across all eras."
Meanwhile, "Hope" is scheduled to open on the 15th.
