[Dispatch=Reporter Tae Yun Jung] KATSEYE will unfold their fierce growth story on screen.
HYBE-Geffen Records announced on the 8th (local time) that it will release a special documentary about KATSEYE's journey, "KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS."
The group's first theatrical documentary will be released ahead of KATSEYE's third EP "WILD." It will be screened in theaters worldwide starting the 12th of next month. Details on countries and theaters will be announced later.
The film follows the growth process from "The Debut: Dream Academy," when ordinary girls fiercely challenged to become KATSEYE members, to their advancement onto the world stage.
It contains behind-the-scenes cuts never before released, videos sent directly by fans, and candid interviews from the members. It sheds multidimensional light on KATSEYE's story.
Verified documentary production teams joined forces. Interscope Films and Boardwalk Pictures, which produced the Netflix series "Popstar Academy" documenting the members' formation process, collaborated.
Director Nadia Holgrem, who was nominated for four Emmy Awards for Michelle Obama's Netflix documentary "Becoming," took on directing duties.
KATSEYE is a team that debuted in 2024 based on a "multi-home, multi-genre" strategy and "K-pop methodology." In less than two years since debut, they have successively graced major music festivals including "Lollapalooza" and "Coachella," as well as major award show stages.
In May, they achieved a three-title sweep at the "2026 American Music Awards," one of America's three major music awards, including "Breakthrough Artist of the Year." Their North America and Europe tour starting in September sold out all shows within 48 hours of presale opening.
Meanwhile, amid this upward momentum, KATSEYE will release their third EP "WILD" on the 14th of next month.
