[Dispatch=Lee Myeong-joo] Actor Ryu Seung-ryong's film "Bi-gwang" (Director Lee Ji-won) opens September 2.
"Bi-gwang" is a family saga. It tells the story of a top star couple struggling to rescue their daughter after a rift in their marriage caused by the sudden appearance of the husband's daughter from another relationship, and the daughter becomes embroiled in an incident.
Ryu Seung-ryong plays Joong-gu, a father who was once the greatest baseball player but fell into ruin with the appearance of his daughter. He shows a side willing to do anything to protect his daughter.
Ha Ji-won plays Nam-mi, a former top star reduced to a survival-mode entertainer. She portrays a character who cannot turn away from her daughter, who reminds her of her own childhood.
Kim Si-ah plays Dong-ju, the daughter. She is a girl pushed to the brink after being named a suspect following a friend's death. She completes a seamless acting ensemble with Ryu Seung-ryong and Ha Ji-won.
Director Lee Ji-won handled both direction and screenplay. She received the Baeksang Arts Awards Best New Director Award for "Miss Back" (2018). Through "Bi-gwang," she conveys a message of redemption once again.
Meanwhile, "Bi-gwang" is set to open September 2.
