[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myung-ju] 'Kim Bujang' (Screenplay by Nam Dae-joong, Directed by Lee Seung-young) has set its own highest viewership rating once again.
SBS-TV's 'Kim Bujang' Episode 6 aired on the 11th. According to Nielsen Korea, the broadcast recorded a nationwide average viewership rating of 22.3%.
This marks the second-highest viewership rating in SBS Friday-Saturday drama history. It surpassed 'Fiery Priest' (22%). The only remaining record is 'Penthouse 2' (29.2%).
The upward trajectory is remarkable. 'Kim Bujang' started with an episode one viewership rating of 9.5%. It exceeded 15% by the second episode, and broke through 21% in the fourth episode.
In this broadcast, Kim Bujang (played by So Ji-seop) struggles to rescue his daughter together with Sung Han-su (played by Choi Dae-hoon) and Park Jin-chul (played by Yoon Kyung-ho).
The Special Duty Bureau is holding Kim Bujang's daughter Minji (played by Seo Su-min) as a hostage. Ju Kang-chan (played by Joo Sang-wook) is also threatening Minji's safety.
Kim Bujang received help from his colleagues. Sung Han-su infiltrates the Special Duty Bureau and rescues Minji. Park Jin-chul also appears with a weapon at the critical moment.
The finale is the father's heroics. Kim Bujang stops the Special Duty Bureau's gunfire from the darkness. He tells his daughter, "Dad is here. Let's go home."
Meanwhile, 'Kim Bujang' is a revenge action drama based on a webtoon of the same name. It is a story of an ordinary father who stakes everything to get his daughter back.
