BTS, 'The City' rollout…"All of London, a red light festival"

[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju Reporter] BTS has painted all of London in 'Arirang.'

BTS has been running the popup festival 'BTS The City Arirang-London' (hereinafter 'The City London') across London, UK starting from the 5th (Korea time).

The tourist attraction 'Outernet' underwent a new transformation for the festival. Music videos of the group play on the NOW Building's 360-degree screens and digital canvas.

Outernet said "'The City London' is a special event not previously experienced" and "it was the largest scale single artist fan event since opening."

It added, "It was moving to see people from around the world interact and blend into the everyday life of London," and "it demonstrated the power of the fan community."

At the center of this project was 'ARMY MADANG.' It moved away from the existing reservation-based operation and opened completely to the general public.

Access for visitors was enhanced. By experiencing various activity programs, visitors completed their own 'love song' by imbuing their memories of BTS music.

Immersive experiences were also prepared. A dance experience program was installed at the Korea Tourism Organization popup. Samsung Electronics showcased a message wall utilizing Galaxy AI.

Landmarks across London were illuminated in red, the new album's key color. The observation wheel 'London Eye' lit up with intense red lighting during evening peak hours.

A large floating boat was also deployed. It carried an 'Arirang' logo sculpture and operated along the river. It revealed vintage charm in harmony with the high-rise buildings.

Special collaboration with the British Museum, one of the world's three largest museums, is also taking place. Connected viewing of works from the permanent collection that relate to 'Arirang' messages.

This is the so-called 'Korea Gallery trail.' It was conceived from the Seokduksangwang Shingjong in the recorded track 'Number 29.' It was composed of artifacts from the Silla period.

The 'Eight-Stop Stamp Rally' is a program to be enjoyed while moving around the city. The Korean Cultural Center in the UK also displayed stage costumes from the 2019 Wembley Stadium concert.

The agency said, "This was an occasion to prove BTS's global influence in England, the birthplace of pop," and "a new urban festival model has been completed."

Meanwhile, BTS will continue the world tour 'Arirang' in Paris, France on the 17th and 18th.
