[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myung-ju] "Promoted as a terrestrial drama OST, but is it different from the facts?"
Singer Hwang Young-woong attempted a comeback through a terrestrial drama, but it ultimately fell through. The OST track he sang was released without the drama title.
OST production company 'Nyam Nyam Entertainment' released the OST track 'If You Love' sung by Hwang Young-woong on various music platforms on the 14th at 6 p.m.
The drama title was excluded from the track listing. The OST production company had been promoting the song as an OST for KBS-2TV 'Please Prescribe Love'.
However, viewers objected. In particular, they raised issues regarding Hwang Young-woong's school violence and assault controversies. Related complaints have been filed and an official response is pending.
The broadcaster expressed reluctance. The station stated, "There is no record of approving (the OST track sung by Hwang Young-woong) as an OST for 'Please Prescribe Love'."
They have already protested to the production company. They announced, "We formally raised the issue regarding the fact that (the audio) was promoted as an official drama OST."
Drama production company HB Entertainment mentioned legal measures. They said, "Currently, related matters are undergoing legal review and necessary procedures."
They added, "We are taking action regarding the act of using the audio that was not used in broadcast along with the drama title, KBS name, and related assets."
Meanwhile, Hwang Young-woong was a contender for the championship on MBN's 'Burning Trot Man Season 1' in 2023. However, allegations of school violence and assault convictions emerged, leading him to voluntarily withdraw.
After a three-year hiatus from activities, he released a statement denying the allegations through his agency in January. In February, he appeared at the 54th Gangjin Celadon Festival.
