[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myung-joo] BTS illuminated the World Cup halftime show for the first time in history.

BTS took the stage at the halftime show of the '2026 FIFA North, Central America and Caribbean World Cup' final held at the New Jersey Stadium in New York on the 20th (Korean time).

They appeared after Spain and Argentina completed the first half. Wearing outfits reminiscent of the Red Devils, they performed 'Dynamite'.

The song is a hit that reached number 1 on the U.S. Billboard main song chart 'Hot 100'. It is characterized by taking happiness as a theme befitting a global celebration.

BTS adapted the original song with soccer-related lyrics to elicit response. When they sang 'Kick the Ball / A Game of Football', cheers erupted.

Toward the end of the halftime show, they reappeared on the soccer field. Together with Coldplay, Shakira, and Justin Bieber, they sang 'We Dance'.

The members said, "It is an honor to stand on the first halftime show of the World Cup final," and "We are happy to perform with wonderful artists for a meaningful cause."

They added, "We believe we were able to reach this stage thanks to the influence of ARMY worldwide," and "We are grateful to everyone who watched."

Meanwhile, BTS closed out the European leg of their world tour 'Arirang' the previous day on the 19th at Stade de France in Paris, France.
