'A Possible Love' Goes Global… Toronto International Film Festival Official Selection

[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju Reporter] Director Lee Chang-dong's new film has been invited to the Toronto International Film Festival.

Netflix announced on the 20th that "the film 'A Possible Love' (Director Lee Chang-dong) has been officially invited to the Special Presentations section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival."

The Toronto International Film Festival is North America's largest film festival. It is counted among the world's four major film festivals alongside the Venice International Film Festival, Cannes International Film Festival, and Berlin International Film Festival.

The section introduces new works by globally renowned directors or actors. Previously, films such as "Parasite" (2019) and "Decision to Leave" (2022) have been invited.

"A Possible Love" is director Lee Chang-dong's work after approximately 8 years since "Burning" (2018). It tells the story of two couples meeting for a documentary and confronting desire.

The festival described "A Possible Love" as "a work that deeply explores marital relationships, class, and cinema itself," adding that it "demonstrated this director's reputation."

Meanwhile, "A Possible Love" will have its North American premiere screening at the Toronto International Film Festival to be held September 10–20.
