[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myung-joo] Actor Ryu Seung-ryong engages in a desperate struggle to protect his family.
Distributor Playgramme released a teaser trailer for the film "Bi Gwang" (directed by Lee Ji-won) on the 21st. Ryu Seung-ryong, Ha Ji-won, Kim Si-a, and others were spotted.
The footage runs approximately 20 seconds. Each character is shown. First comes Joong-gu (played by Ryu Seung-ryong). He faces the scene of a middle school girl's death in Urim Stream.
His daughter Dong-ju (played by Kim Si-a) appeared consumed by guilt. She told someone, "(The middle school girl found dead) died because of me."
There was also a scene hinting at the relationship between the two. Joong-gu gives Dong-ju a pair of shoes, saying, "Do you know what day it is? The day you and I met."
Happy past and precarious present are contrasted. Nam-mi (played by Ha Ji-won) encourages Joong-gu, saying, "Win by any means necessary. And save her."
"Bi Gwang" is a family chronicle. It tells the story of a top-star couple who, after their marriage falls apart due to the husband's daughter, struggle to rescue their daughter caught up in an incident.
This is a new work by director Lee Ji-won. The director has previously directed the film "Miss Back" (2018) and the drama "Climax" (2026). He also handled the screenplay himself.
Ryu Seung-ryong plays Joong-gu, a father and former baseball player. Ha Ji-won takes on the role of Nam-mi, a former top star turned working entertainer, and Kim Si-a plays daughter Dong-ju.
Meanwhile, "Bi Gwang" is scheduled to open on September 2.
