SM Entertainment announced on the 21st that "Red Velvet will make a comeback with the mini album 'Velvet Summer' on the 3rd of next month."

The new release contains a total of 5 tracks. The title track 'Surfin' Boy' captures the atmosphere of Red Velvet's Velvet version. It depicts summer with soft melodies.

The B-side 'Hula Hoop' is a medium-tempo pop track. It features upbeat guitar and piano rhythms. The lyrics express a moment of reunion on a dazzling summer day.

'Hawaii' is an acoustic pop song. Joy wrote it solo. It conveys a story of encountering childhood dreams and freedom again, as if arriving in Hawaii.

Red Velvet also released teaser images on official SNS on the 21st. The photos captured members embarking on a trip together.

Meanwhile, Red Velvet will release the new album on various music sites at 6 p.m. on the 3rd of next month.
