[Dispatch=Reporter Kim So-jung] Jang Yoon-jeong's mother, Ms. Yuk, has been apprehended by police.

The Seoul Songpa Police Station announced on the 21st that it arrested Ms. Yuk and transferred her to the prosecution for detention. Ms. Yuk is suspected of fraud for obtaining tens of millions of won from an acquaintance under the pretext of investment and failing to return the profits.

Police received a complaint and launched an investigation, but were unable to locate Ms. Yuk. Tracking proved difficult as no cell phone usage or credit card transaction records surfaced.

After recently tracing her whereabouts, police arrested Ms. Yuk. An arrest warrant was issued last week. Police investigated the circumstances of the crime and the scale of damage against Ms. Yuk before transferring the case to the prosecution.

Jang Yoon-jeong cut ties with Ms. Yuk long ago. Regarding this case, she drew a line, stating, "For decades, I have had no direct contact with my mother whatsoever."
