[Dispatch=Lee Myung-joo] The film 'Hope' (Director Na Hong-jin) topped the weekend box office for two consecutive weeks.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated cinema ticket system, 'Hope' drew 767,365 viewers last weekend (24-26). The cumulative audience count stands at 3,415,709.

It surpassed the 3 million viewer mark at the fastest pace among films released this year (11 days after release). It became the fourth hit film following 'The Man Living with the King', 'Collective Creature', and 'Salamander'.

Behind its popularity are 'Hope-friendly' fans (movie fans overly immersed in 'Hope'). They drove repeat viewings. By adding their own interpretations to the 'Hope' universe, they heightened the enjoyment of watching.

'Hope' begins when the head of the Hopohang branch office hears from local youths that a tiger has appeared, and encounters a reality that is hard to believe.

Meanwhile, 'Minions & Monsters' took second place with 117,916 viewers. 'Moana' ranked third with 87,033 viewers.
