[Dispatch=Lee Myeong-ju] Hollywood actor Ryan Gosling is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, announced Gosling's MCU entry at Comic-Con 2026 held in San Diego on the 26th (Korean time).

He said, "Gosling will star in the 'Ghost Rider' film," adding "Shawn Levy will direct, and Jonathan Tropper will write the screenplay."

Gosling took the stage with director Levy. He thanked them, saying, "'Ghost Rider' is a character I've wanted to play for a very long time."

'Ghost Rider' is a character—a motorcycle stuntman Johnny Blaze who, after making a deal with the devil, wields superhuman powers in the form of a flaming skull.

Nicolas Cage has played this role before. He appeared in the films 'Ghost Rider' (2007) and 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance' (2011).

A TV series was initially planned but was ultimately scrapped in 2019. Director Levy, who helmed the 'Deadpool & Wolverine' series, will direct.

Meanwhile, 'Ghost Rider' is set to release in 2028.
