"Added hip to refreshingness"…The Wind, Beginning of a New Chapter (Showcase)
by. Azin Lee

[Dispatch=Lee A-jin] "I will show you both refreshing and hip charm at the same time!" (Park Ha-yuchan)

The Wind has returned after 1 year and 2 months. Having gone through the longest hiatus since their debut, they put significant effort into presenting a more mature side.

They expanded their musical spectrum. While maintaining their refreshing color, they added a hip and free-spirited atmosphere.

Their performance became more fluid. Previously focused on detailed movement lines and choreography, this time they actively researched gestures that reveal personality.

The Wind held a showcase at Ilji Art Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 29th to commemorate the release of their fourth mini album "Second Wind: S#00".

"Second Wind: S#00" expresses the strength that returns in moments of exhaustion. It also contains a new breath aimed at leaping beyond limits to greater heights.

The album title reflects the desire to leap. "Second Wind" refers to a second wind that becomes a turning point. "S#00" is a digital code meaning a level-up.

Park Ha-yuchan explained, "We combined two words to create new meaning. It refers to a state where, after reaching a limit while exercising, strength returns and you can run longer."

Park Kyung of Block B participated in producing all tracks. Tanathon said, "I was curious how you would express our color," and "You brought out our strengths while adding a new atmosphere."

An Chan-won recalled, "The senior also supervised the recording direction," and "He gave us careful guidance on every part. Thanks to that, I was able to express emotions more deeply."

The album contains five tracks: "With the Wind," "Party Like A Rock Star," "That's Smoove!," "Tteoreojyeo," and "Iraetdda Jeoraeotda."

The title track is "Party Like A Rock Star." Choi Han-bin introduced it, saying, "It's a song where funky guitar riffs and EDM beats harmonize," and "The refreshing sound suits summer well."

They challenged the rock style for the first time. Given the different musical color from before, they had significant concerns about how to interpret it. Park Ha-yuchan said, "At first, it was difficult to get a sense of how to express the rock atmosphere."

He added, "In particular, properly releasing energy was important," and "Senior Park Kyung also continuously emphasized energy during the recording direction process. I tried to follow that direction as much as possible."

The Wind revealed the title track and B-side "That's Smoove!" for the first time that day. In the title track performance, they used hand mics to emphasize a free-spirited atmosphere.

In the highlight section, they added lively yet controlled movements. In the latter part of the song, they performed a dance break matching the energetic band sound, capturing attention.

"That's Smoove!" is a contemporary pop rock track. An Chan-won added, "It's a song overflowing with energy—enough to boost your energy when commuting."

The performance began powerfully. The members performed controlled group choreography in sync with the pouring beat. As the melody began, the atmosphere shifted cheerfully. The members moved freely across the stage, displaying a mischievous charm.

Leader Kim Hee-soo halted activities in May due to health deterioration. Park Ha-yuchan leads this comeback as interim leader. He confessed, "The members trusted me and entrusted me with the leadership position, so I tried to exert the leadership I learned from Hee-soo as much as possible."

Lead vocalist Tanathon took on the role of main vocalist as well. He said, "During the hiatus, I focused on vocal training. I did my best so that the absence of Hee-soo wouldn't be felt."

The members also revealed their goals for this activity. Choi Han-bin said, "Numerically, I want to achieve number one on music broadcasts. Furthermore, I hope this activity becomes one where all members can be imprinted on the public."

Tanathon expressed his resolve to fans. He pledged, "I will do my best to repay the love our fans have shown us during this long hiatus. We will become a group that continues to be active for a long time."
