[Dispatch=Lee Myung-joo] Actor Kim Min-ha will lead the opening ceremony of the Busan Film Festival.
The Busan International Film Festival announced on the 31st that "Kim Min-ha has been selected as the host of the 31st Busan International Film Festival opening ceremony to be held on October 6 at the Busan Cinema Center."
Kim Min-ha debuted in 2016. Through the Apple TV series 'Pachinko' (2022, 2024), she made an impression globally. She received the New Talent Award at the Asian American Awards.
Since then, she has delivered passionate performances across various genres including the dramas 'Illumination Shop' (2024), 'A Week Before I Die' (2025), 'Typhoon Trading Company' (2025), and the film 'Hana Korea' (2026).
Regarding the host selection, the Busan Film Festival stated, "This is the result of paying attention to her distinctive trajectory, having faithfully represented the inner aspects of characters through deep interpretation in each work."
It added, "We expect that Kim Min-ha, who has captivated audiences with her serious yet bold demeanor, will enhance the festival's prestige through her stable hosting at the opening ceremony."
Meanwhile, this year's Busan Film Festival will take place from October 6 to 15 in the area around the Busan Cinema Center.
