Kim Go-eun was the winner of the Grand Prize at the 5th Chungryong Series Awards. She clinched the award, surpassing 24 productions and numerous other nominees. Even in her 16th year since debut, she showed her earnest desire for works.

The 5th Chungryong Series Awards took place on the 31st at Paradise City Hotel in Yeongjongdo, Incheon. Jeon Hyun-moo and Lim Yoon-ah led the ceremony for the fifth consecutive year.

This year, candidates were selected for dramas and entertainment shows released through domestic and international streaming platforms from June 1st of last year to May 31st.

Kim Go-eun presented three works: Netflix's "Silver and Sangyeon," "The Price of Confession," and Tving's "Yumi's Cells 3." Ultimately, she brought the ceremony to a close.

She revealed, "I was so proud inside even though (I didn't win the best work award) because there were two works I participated in as nominees for the excellence in work category."

She continued, "I will think of this award as something I received by working hard on 'Silver and Sangyeon,' 'The Price of Confession,' and 'Yumi's Cells,'" expressing her gratitude.

She also shared the honor with her colleagues. Kim Go-eun said, "I've been fortunate enough to work with wonderful seniors and learn from them," adding, "Someday I want to become a senior like that too."

Finally, she said earnestly, "I have never taken acting for granted. I approach every work with a sense of responsibility and earnestness. Please give me many opportunities so that I can continue to maintain curiosity as an actress and work hard."

Tving's "The Legend of the Cook" won the excellence in work award in the drama category. The military cooking-fantasy drama set its own highest viewership ratings throughout its broadcast and was recognized for its quality.

"The Legend of the Cook" achieved a triple crown with excellence in work, supporting actor award (Yoon Kyung-ho), and OST popularity award (Yujin). The cast members all took the stage and enjoyed the festive atmosphere.

Netflix's "Single for Life But Want to Fall in Love" was called for the excellence in work award in the entertainment category. MC Lee Eun-ji said, "I am grateful to the ordinary cast members who gave their lives and participated with sincerity."

Park Hae-soo of "Scarecrow" received the best actor award. Park Hae-soo portrayed densely the deficiency stemming from childhood and the twisted competitive spirit the character harbored, supporting the weight of the drama.

He said, "I am grateful to the director and writer for bringing out such a deep and heavy work with difficulty. I worked with good actors. There is nothing more exciting than that. In the blazing sun without any shade, I changed clothes twice. I am also grateful to Lee Hee-jun hyung who worked with me."

Shin Hye-sun won the best actress award for "Lady Dua." She completed the mysterious character Sarah Kim, who became the victim of an unsolved murder case overnight in the upper class world, with explosive tension.

Shin Hye-sun said, "I was grateful just that (Park) Bo-gyeong sunbae received it for 'Lady Dua,' and I am thankful that it was given to me too," adding, "I am too nervous to say more. I will try to do good acting going forward."

The supporting actor awards went to Yoon Kyung-ho of "The Legend of the Cook" and Park Bo-gyeong of "Lady Dua." Yoon Kyung-ho shed tears, saying, "Before the ceremony, I was asked to call my name even if it wasn't there, and I thought he was joking."

He continued, "Just by being together, I thought I should work hard, and I am grateful," adding, "Rather than saying I am doing well now, I understand it as a word telling me to keep that position well going forward, and I accept it gratefully."

When Park Bo-gyeong was called, her husband Jin Sun-gyul was even more moved. Park Bo-gyeong said, "Watching the ceremony, I wondered if a day like that would come in my life, and I kept shaking my head, thinking it would be nice if I could at least audition. I am grateful to be given a chance to share my acceptance speech."

She added, "After losing my proposal ring, my husband and I didn't have any couple items. But with this award, we got a couple trophy," and smiled at Jin Sun-gyul.

The entertainment category was also fierce. Kim Sook (Driver: The Rival) and Kim Won-hoon (SNL Korea Season 8) took home the excellence in entertainer award. Kim Won-hoon said, "If I didn't win the award, I was going to write the names of the people involved in the death note," pulling out a notebook.

He continued, "I think you appreciated the passion I had to give people a lot of laughter. And thanks to (Jo) Jin-se and (Um) Ji-yun, who filled me completely from when I was nothing, I was able to receive this award," shedding tears.

Kim Sook said, "Actually, I came to the ceremony right after filming 'Driver.' I have to go back, and I am grateful to the staff waiting, and thanks to the fans," adding, "I am grateful that seniors Yoo Jae-suk and Shin Dong-yeop paved the way well."

Ko Yoon-jung, Byeon Woo-seok, Yoo Jae-suk, and Lee Soo-ji were called for the popularity star award. The award is decided by voting. It is given to two male and female finalists from the drama and entertainment categories.

Byeon Woo-seok said, "I am grateful for this award that contains the love and time of the fans." Yoo Jae-suk said, "I didn't know I would receive the popularity star award. I am grateful."

The rookie award, given only once, went to Kim Jae-won of "Yumi's Cells 3" and Jeon So-young of Netflix's "Girigio." Kim Jae-won gave credit, saying, "Because there was unnie and senior (Kim) Go-eun whom I loved, respected, and liked more than anyone while filming, I learned a lot and relied on her."

He added, "I know that receiving an award today doesn't make me perfect right away. Without fear, I will work hard like a Toothpick and strive to become a good actor."
