According to distributor Sony Pictures, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" (hereinafter "Spider-Man 4") surpassed a cumulative audience of 2 million as of 1 a.m. on the 1st.

The film rewrote box office records in just four days of release. "Spider-Man 4" gathered 2 million viewers two days faster than "Avatar" (13.33 million), which ranks 9th in all-time box office history.

Real-time reservation rates are also overwhelming. It accounted for 63.8% of all screenings. 800,000 viewers made advance reservations, contributing to the revitalization of the theater market.

"Spider-Man 4" tells the story of Peter Parker (played by Tom Holland) gaining uncontrollable power through DNA mutation and facing a new threat to protect those dear to him.

"Hope" maintained the number two position at the box office. It attracted 81,496 viewers. With a cumulative audience of 3.856 million, it is certain to surpass 4 million this weekend.

It garnered attention as a new work by director Na Hong-jin released after 10 years, but the box office momentum has cooled. Hollywood blockbuster releases are to blame. "Odyssey" opens on the 5th.

Nevertheless, it left meaningful marks on the Korean film industry. It produced enthusiasts through Korean-style sci-fi adopting Western film grammar and creature collisions occurring in broad daylight.
