According to the Korean Film Council's integrated cinema ticketing system, 'Hope' exceeded 4 million cumulative viewers as of 2 a.m. on the 2nd. This is 30 days after its release.

The film is maintaining its box office performance amid a Hollywood blockbuster onslaught. The film drew 335,808 viewers nationwide over last weekend (July 31 - August 2).

This is thanks to repeat viewings by 'Hope-fans' (audiences who are enthusiastic about 'Hope'). They are consuming the film by adding their own imagination to the settings presented by director Na Hong-jin.

As the decision on whether to produce a sequel depends on box office performance, the team is encouraging viewership through related content. YouTuber Kim Dan-gun's 'Delusion Association' is a prime example.
