A representative from KongKong by Starship said on the 5th that this is "a matter arising from a difference in interpretation and application of tax law," and "the relevant procedures are not yet entirely concluded."

The Tax Tribunal recently dismissed Yoo Yeon-seok's tax tribunal petition. Yoo Yeon-seok conducted his activities through "Forever Entertainment," which he established. The National Tax Service determined that the corporation did not perform substantive entertainment activity support business.

Last year, a tax assessment of approximately 6 billion won was imposed. Before the tax assessment, Yoo Yeon-seok filed a request for a pre-assessment appropriateness review. The final tax amount was reduced to approximately 3 billion won. After paying this, he filed a tax tribunal petition.

The Tax Tribunal determined there were no problems with the National Tax Service's disposition. There is a possibility that Yoo Yeon-seok may continue the dispute through administrative litigation. However, the representative withheld comment, saying "it is difficult to provide answers since there are no other decided matters."

According to the Framework Act on National Taxes, within 90 days of service of the decision, a taxpayer may file a lawsuit to cancel the tax assessment at the administrative court having jurisdiction over the domicile of the assessing authority. If this period is exceeded, the disposition becomes final.

The agency said, "We will sincerely respond in accordance with procedures prescribed by relevant laws for necessary matters," and "Yoo Yeon-seok has faithfully fulfilled his tax payment obligations up to now. Going forward, he will approach matters with a sense of responsibility."

Meanwhile, Yoo Yeon-seok is awaiting the release of the new MBC-TV drama "Liar" (screenplay by Baek Jae-young, directed by Cho Young-min) in the second half of this year. He will work with Seo Hyun-Jin in a psychological thriller.
