[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju] Actors Cha Tae-hyun and Eom Ji-won will meet as a married couple in their next project.
Netflix announced on the 6th that the film "Returning Police Officer" (director Kim Jong-hyun) has been greenlit for production. "Cha Tae-hyun and Eom Ji-won will work together in 'Returning Police Officer,'" it said.
"Returning Police Officer" is an action comedy. It tells the story of a detective who ends up solely raising five siblings when his wife embarks on a secret operation, and becomes entangled in a crime elimination operation.
Cha Tae-hyun plays detective Dong-shik. The story depicts his situation as he takes on full responsibility for raising five siblings when his wife suddenly leaves on a trip ahead of his promotion exam.
Eom Ji-won plays Gyeong-ah, Dong-shik's wife. She was a former ace police officer but has been single-handedly raising children for 10 years. She accepts a proposal for a secret National Intelligence Service operation to return to work.
This is the first time the two have acted as a married couple. Cha Tae-hyun and Eom Ji-won will show family chemistry with five siblings each with distinct personalities.
The film is directed by Kim Jong-hyun. He delivered both lighthearted entertainment and profound emotion through films such as "Superstar Thank You" and "National Team 2."
Meanwhile, the release date for "Returning Police Officer" has not yet been determined. It will be available on Netflix at a later date.
