Director Lee Chang-dong invited to New York Film Festival... Fourth attendance with 'Possible Love'

[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju Reporter] Director Lee Chang-dong's new film has received an invitation to the 64th New York Film Festival.

Netflix announced on the 6th, "The film 'A Possible Love' (Director Lee Chang-dong) has been invited to the New York Film Festival Main Slate section."

The New York Film Festival is a leading American film festival. The Main Slate section is a program that showcases original works by world-renowned and emerging filmmakers.

This is the fourth time his work has been invited to this section. The director previously entered the New York Film Festival's major sections with 'Secret Sunshine,' 'Poetry,' and 'Burning.'

The festival stated, "This director's film is distinctly unparalleled with its broad perspective, artistic ambition, elegant narrative structure, and multi-dimensional characters."

They continued, "'A Possible Love' is the work that opens the widest horizon in his filmography," and praised it as "facing the times head-on and leaving a resonance."

'A Possible Love' has also been invited to the Toronto International Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival. The director became the first Korean to win the TIFF Ebert Director's Award (Toronto).

Meanwhile, 'A Possible Love' tells the story of two couples confronting hidden desires. It is scheduled to open next month on the 23rd and be released on Netflix on November 6th.
