[Dispatch=Reporter Jeong Tae-yun] The film 'Hope' (directed by Na Hong-jin) has been officially invited to the Midnight Madness section of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival.

The festival will be held from September 10 to 20 next month. The Midnight Madness section is a program that presents original genre films with bold concepts and sensory visuals.

'Hope' was invited in recognition of its new attempt in Korean genre cinema. Through this official screening, it is set to deliver a cinematic experience that can only be enjoyed in theaters to audiences worldwide.

'Hope' was previously invited to the competition section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, where it had its world premiere. It received enthusiastic acclaim and applause from filmmakers around the world.

It was then selected as a centerpiece screening at the 25th New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF), successfully completing its North American premiere.

Director Na Hong-jin received the 'Daniel A. Kraft Award for Outstanding Action Cinema.' He was recognized for his contributions to the development of genre cinema.

'Hope' opens in North America starting September 9 next month. It will continue the momentum through the Toronto International Film Festival.
