[Dispatch=Reporter Kim So-jeong] A (41), accused of stalking Hwang Jung-min, was sentenced to a fine of 10 million won. A had previously received a summary order for a fine of 3 million won.

The Criminal Division 4 of Goyang Branch of Uijeongbu District Court (Presiding Judge Kim Young-ah) held a formal trial for A. A's charges are violation of the Stalking Punishment Act. On the 11th, the prosecution sought a fine of 10 million won for A.

The prosecution cited "the long period of the crime, the excessively frequent contact, the posting of threatening messages on SNS, and Hwang Jung-min's request for severe punishment" as reasons.

A claimed innocence. The contact was not one-sided, A argued. In a final statement, A said, "There were mistakes in some of my actions," but "it was not one-sided stalking."

A continued, "There were moments when my emotions fell apart and I did things I shouldn't have," but "however, this is a completely different story from being a stalker who followed one person for two years," A added.

A also requested the court to review records. A said, "Please look at what remains on record—who contacted first, what was said, and what promises were made."

Previously, Hwang Jung-min's side filed a complaint against A in August last year. The court issued a summary order for a fine of 3 million won in February. A did not accept the ruling and requested a formal trial. A also filed a civil lawsuit against Hwang Jung-min for 200 million won.

Meanwhile, the sentencing hearing for A will be held on the 8th of next month at 10 a.m.
