TWICE's Chaeyoung stands alone… "With my own music, a new challenge"
by. Hyejin Park

[Dispatch=Park Hye-jin Reporter] Chaeyoung of TWICE is leaving JYP and embarking on a solo career.

On the 13th, Chaeyoung left a handwritten letter on her SNS saying, "I wanted to inform ONCE, my family who have always been by my side, first."

She is leaving JYP after 14 years. Chaeyoung said, "I am grateful to the JYP staff and TWICE team who supported and believed in me, a tomboy, for 14 years."

To her TWICE members, she said, "I am also thankful to and love our members who have cheered me on and been a source of strength from beside me."

She previewed music of her own. "I am going to create music activities in my own 'LIL FANTASY' world," she emphasized.

'LIL FANTASY' is also the title of Chaeyoung's first solo regular album. She has previously stated that it is "the name of a small world within me."

TWICE activities will continue. "The reason I have been loved so much is because there has been time I spent being active as TWICE, which is my roots," she said, adding that she will "carry on unchanged."

She concluded, "I want to become a person who can give precious music to your lives, both as Chaeyoung of TWICE and as Chaeyoung of 'LIL FANTASY.' I will become a better person through this new challenge. Please watch over me."

Meanwhile, TWICE is currently at its second contract renewal point. Jeongyeon has announced a new start as an actress. The remaining members are also in discussions about contract renewal and going solo.
