by. TaeYun Jeong

[Dispatch=Reporter Jung Tae-yun] KATSEYE showcased an energetic stage at the heart of New York.

On the 14th (local time), KATSEYE took the stage at the outdoor plaza at Rockefeller Center on the day of releasing their third EP 'WILD'. They performed on the 'City Concert Series' stage of NBC's flagship morning program 'The Today Show'.

The venue was packed with fans who gathered from early morning to see KATSEYE. The members made their first public performance of the new album's title track 'Hootie Frutti' that day.

As the intro of the song played, the heart of New York instantly turned into a festival atmosphere. The rhythmic percussion unique to Brazilian funk and heavy beats resonated through the forest of buildings.

The members appeared dressed in costumes adorned with colorful beads and fringe. They drew explosive responses by adding a primal yet energetic performance.

Even though it was the first time the new song was unveiled, the audience danced along to the rhythm and cheered. On familiar stages like the pre-release track 'Pinky Up', 'Animal', and 'Gabriel' released last year, they responded with chorus singing.

In an interview conducted in the studio, talk about the new album continued. Danielle said, "It's rawer and more sincere. You'll be able to see KATSEYE at a higher level," expressing confidence.

Megan, speaking about the force sustaining the group, said, "We're just ordinary girls," but added, "Our strong friendship toward each other and humility are the driving force that supports us in a rapidly changing environment."

The new album is also performing well on global charts. According to the latest Official Charts Company chart released on the 15th (August 14-20), the pre-release track 'Animal' ranked 16th on the 'Official Singles Top 100'.

It set their own highest ranking in the first week of release. The track also ranked 15th on Spotify's 'Weekly Top Songs Global' (August 7-13), solidifying its position in the upper ranks for three consecutive weeks.

The new album contains an attitude of confidence in moving toward instinct and freedom while accepting all inner aspects as they are. It includes a total of 5 tracks. World-renowned hit makers including Chairman Bang Si-hyuk and Ed Sheeran participated.
