[Dispatch=Park Hye-jin Reporter] Stray Kids shared their feelings about setting a record of nine consecutive entries on the "Billboard 200."
Stray Kids said on the 18th through JYP Entertainment, "We are very honored to achieve the great record of nine consecutive number ones on the 'Billboard 200.'"
Billboard reported an advance article on the 16th (local time). Stray Kids reached the top of the "Billboard 200" for the 22nd with their new album "This and That."
With this, Stray Kids has achieved their ninth "Billboard 200" number one. The group now holds the most number-one albums on the chart in the 21st century.
Among all artists in the 2020s, they have tied with Taylor Swift for the most number-one albums. By group standards across all time, they are tied with the Rolling Stones following the Beatles.
The members expressed their emotion, saying, "Like fate, we achieved our ninth 'Billboard 200' number one in our ninth year since debut," and "As a K-pop group, we are reminded of the meaningful significance."
They gave credit to their fans. "Above all, this was made possible thanks to STAY, who have supported Stray Kids without change. We are grateful," they said.
Continuing, they said, "With the great love of STAY, who is always by our side moving forward together, we want to show not only ourselves but also the endless growth of K-pop to music fans around the world."
They previewed their future music direction. "Like the meaning of our team name, Stray Kids, which signifies finding our own path, we will continue to expand our unique music spectrum that breaks away from the mold," they said.
Meanwhile, Stray Kids' global activities continue. On the 29th and 30th, they will enter Tokyo's National Stadium with their new world tour "RUN IT." This marks a historic first for overseas male artists.
Next month, they will hold the festival "STRAYCITY" in three Latin American regions. On the 11th, they will headline Brazil's "Rock in Rio."
