BTS, Nominated for VMA Song of the Year… Lisa, Nominated in 4 Categories

[Dispatch=Lee Myeong-joo] BTS has been nominated in major categories at a major American pop music awards ceremony.

MTV announced the nomination list for the "2026 MTV Video Music Awards" (hereinafter 'MTV VMA') on the 18th (Korean time).

BTS was nominated in major categories including "Song of the Year" and "Best K-pop" with "SWIM," the title track from their fifth regular album "Arirang."

They stood alongside global artists. In addition to BTS, Madonna, Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Dean, and Pinkpantheress were also nominated for "Song of the Year."

The virtual girl group "Huntrix" from the Netflix film "K-pop Demon Hunters" was also nominated. Their song "Golden" was selected as a nominee for "Song of the Year."

BLACKPINK's Lisa entered four categories with her solo track "Dream." She was nominated for "Best Pop," "Best K-pop," "Best Cinematography," and "Best Editing."

The group was also included in the nomination list. BLACKPINK, to which Lisa belongs, was nominated in the "Best K-pop" category with the digital single "JUMP" released in July of last year.

CORTIS was nominated in two categories. With "REDRED," the title track from their second mini album "Green Green," they ranked in "Best New Artist" and "Best K-pop."

Additionally, KATSEYE was nominated for "Best Choreography" and "Best K-pop" with "PINKY UP," and LE SSERAFIM was nominated for "Best K-pop" with "SPAGHETTI."

Meanwhile, the MTV VMA is one of the four major pop music awards ceremonies in the United States. This year's ceremony will be held on the 27th of next month at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
