[Dispatch=Reporter Chung Tae-yoon] The film 'Hope' (directed by Na Hong-jin) will meet Spanish audiences.
'Hope' has been officially invited to the Perlak section of the 74th San Sebastián International Film Festival. The festival will be held from the 18th to 26th of next month.
It is an A-grade film festival recognized by the International Federation of Film Producers Associations. It boasts the longest history and greatest prestige in the Spanish-speaking world.
The Perlak section screens works that are among the finest feature films of the year and have not yet been released in Spain, but have received critical acclaim and been verified in the global film industry.
'Hope' has already confirmed its release in over 200 countries and regions worldwide. Beginning with the competition section of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, it has been invited to the 25th New York Asian Film Festival and the 51st Toronto International Film Festival.
Praise has also followed from James Gunn, co-chair of DC Studios and director of the 'Guardians of the Galaxy' series.
He said, "I have long liked the works of director Na Hong-jin. In particular, as a real fan of 'The Yellow Sea,' I was delighted to be able to watch a new and wonderful film."
'Hope' tells the story that unfolds as Beom-seok (played by Hwang Jung-min), the head of the Hopo Port branch office located in the demilitarized zone, hears news from local youth that a tiger has appeared.
