JYP Entertainment is introducing a new girl group for the first time in four years. It is the first multi-member group from its subsidiary label Init Entertainment.

The group's name is Our Birthday. It is composed of multinational members from South Korea, Japan, Thailand, and other countries. Each member has a distinct personality. Kirara couldn't hide her excitement, saying, "I want to show our appeal quickly."

Performance is also a strong point. The high energy emphasized by the members is clearly evident. They continuously move across the stage, delivering dynamic movements without pause.

"Our JYP seniors are so famous for their performances that I felt we had to show a level that matches that. I'm constantly renewing my resolve to do this with determination!" (Jo Hyejin)

Our Birthday held a showcase on the 19th at Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, commemorating the release of their debut album 'Our Birthday'.

The team name carries the aspiration to deliver thrilling emotions as if every day were a birthday. Yu recalled, "I really liked the name because it feels like a name that would be full of excitement every day."

There are seven members in total: Kook Choro, Kirara, Baby, Jo Hyejin, Yu, Shin Hyewon, and Achilaraya. Members with different backgrounds and charms came together.

Jo Hyejin is a former winner of the KBS-2TV audition program 'The Ddantdara'. She demonstrated excellent dance skills from that time. She takes the center of performance in the team.

She said, "Baby and I are in the main dancer position. In the debut song, we have a significant portion in the center. However, in other songs, we plan to show the skills of other members as well."

Achilaraya is JYP's first Thai girl group member. She said, "Looking at JYP as a whole, I am the third Thai member following Nichkhun and BamBam seniors. With this good opportunity, I will work hard."

The debut album contains a total of four songs: 'Our Birthday', 'Squeeze', 'Hungry' (Side A), and 'Hungry' (Side B). Overall, bright and cheerful energy is infused throughout.

In particular, they presented their own genre called 'Whip Hop'. It combines the free vibe like whipped cream on a cake and 'Whipped' (representing the individuality of seven people) with hip-hop performance.

Shin Hyewon explained, "We think it's a unique genre only to us, and a genre only we can create. Not only Whip Hop but also various other genres in the future."

The title track 'Squeeze' most clearly shows the color of Whip Hop. The genre is a punk-based dance song. It carries the message to let go of complicated emotions and stress, like squeezing a squishy toy by hand.

Kook Choro pointed out, "We added intense and hip performances to a sweet and kitschy mood. All seven members' individualities stand out well. Uninhibited choreography and confident attitude are the highlights."

On this day, they also performed stages of 'Squeeze' and pre-debut track 'Hungry'. First, through 'Squeeze', they displayed the individuality of all seven members. The members captured attention with cute yet cool facial expressions.

In performance, they cranked up the energy. They smoothly executed the bouncy steps woven throughout the song. In the latter half, centered on Jo Hyejin, they unfolded a dance break and properly revealed their strengths.

In 'Hungry', they showed another harmony. The song had previously been shown divided between Side A (Jo Hyejin, Baby, Achilaraya) and Side B (Kook Choro, Shin Hyewon, Yu, Kirara). This was the first time the full version was released.

Side A members powerfully opened the first verse. The second verse was continued by Side B members in a fresher atmosphere. Finally, all seven members gathered together and completed the stage with disciplined group choreography.

Lastly, the members conveyed advice from JYP's representative producer Park Jin Young. Yu said, "He emphasized that members should get along well. We've taken that to heart and are trying to be considerate of each other."

They also revealed their goals. Kook Choro said, "Rather than other descriptors, I want to be remembered simply as 'Our Birthday' itself. I want to walk our own path and show our stage to more people."

Jo Hyejin wished, "Now that we've debuted, I really want to win a rookie award at least once. Above all, I want to show many stages that contain our own individuality."

Meanwhile, 'Our Birthday' is releasing their debut album on various music streaming sites at 6 p.m. today.
