[Dispatch=Lee Myung-joo Reporter] Director Park Chan-wook and Director Na Hong-jin's works will compete at the Buil Film Awards.
The Buil Film Awards office announced the nominees for the '35th Buil Film Awards' on the 20th. The awards cover a total of 16 categories and target films released domestically over the past year.
'No Way Out' is the most nominated work. It was named in the Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Cinematography, Music, and Art/Technical awards categories.
'Hope' made the list in 8 categories including Best Picture. 'Master of the World' directed by Yoon Ga-eun and 'A Man Living With the King' directed by Jang Hang-jun were nominated in 6 categories.
Park Ji-hoon ('A Man Living With the King') is aiming for a triple crown. In addition to Best Actor, he was nominated for Best New Male Actor and Star of the Year.
Yeom Hye-ran is also challenging for multiple awards. She was selected as a candidate in acting awards from different films. She was nominated for Best Actress for 'My Name' and for Best Supporting Actress for 'No Way Out'.
Lee Byung-hun hopes for consecutive wins following last year. He became a Best Actor nominee for 'No Way Out'. Director of Photography Hong Kyung-pyo was also nominated for Cinematography this year.
The Buil Film Awards is Korea's first film awards. It was launched in 1958 and led the golden age of Korean cinema in the 1960s. After a brief hiatus, it resumed in 2008 and has continued for 19 years.
Meanwhile, this year's Buil Film Awards ceremony will be held on October 7th at the Signiel Busan Grand Ballroom in Haeundae-gu, Busan.
