[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myeong-ju] Director Hwang Dong-hyuk is making his screen comeback with the film 'K.O. CLUB'.
Production company Firstman Studio unveiled the casting lineup for 'K.O. CLUB' on the 27th. Actors Lee Byung-hun, O Jung-se, Park Hae-soo, Jo Yeo-jung, and Kim So-jin will appear in the film.
'K.O. CLUB' is short for 'Killing Old Man Club'. The film depicts conflict between the elderly who refuse to step aside and the younger generation in a future where even youth can be bought with money.
This is Director Hwang's return to the screen in approximately 10 years. He has previously directed 'Namhansanseong' (2017), 'Miss Granny' (2014), and 'Silenced' (2011).
During that time, he presented the Netflix series 'Squid Game' seasons 1-3. Director Hwang won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, the first for a non-English language series.
The powerful casting lineup is also a point of anticipation. Lee Byung-hun and Park Hae-soo, who participated in the 'Squid Game' series, are working with Director Hwang once again.
O Jung-se, Jo Yeo-jung, and Kim So-jin are collaborating with the director for the first time. All of them have demonstrated limitless acting spectrum. They have completed unique characters in every project.
A representative stated, "Since irreplaceable actors have gathered together, please anticipate the intense ensemble they will unfold in Director Hwang's new world."
Meanwhile, 'K.O. CLUB' is scheduled to begin filming in the first half of next year.
