[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myung-ju] Minho of SHINee has been appointed as a promotional ambassador for the Defense Ministry's Remains Excavation and Identification Unit.
Minho attended the appointment ceremony held at Seoul National Cemetery in Dongjak-gu, Seoul on the 27th. After paying respects at the Memorial Tower, he received an explanation regarding the remains excavation project for those who died in the Korean War at the Identity Confirmation Center.
As a promotional ambassador for the Remains Excavation and Identification Unit, he will participate in major events. He plans to contribute to promotion of the remains excavation project policy for Korean War casualties through talent donation, including poster and leaflet filming.
Minho is an entertainer who exemplarily completed his military service obligations. In 2019, he voluntarily enlisted in the Marine Corps. Before his discharge, he also renounced his last leave and participated in a national defense training.
He expressed his feelings, saying, "I feel both pride and a heavy sense of responsibility to be able to participate in this noble undertaking of bringing those who sacrificed for the nation back to the homeland."
He pledged to do his best in this promotional ambassador role. Minho added, "I will make efforts to widely publicize the meaningful activities carried out by the Defense Ministry's Remains Excavation and Identification Unit."
Meanwhile, previous appointees as promotional ambassadors for the Remains Excavation and Identification Unit include Professor Seo Kyoung-duk, actresses Park Ha-sun and Shin Goo, the late Song Hae, RM of BTS, and Korean history instructor Choi Tae-sung.
