[Dispatch=Reporter Jung Tae-yoon] Actress Kim Ji-won is transforming into a medical dark hero.

SBS-TV's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Doctor X: Era of the White Mafia' (screenplay by Pyun Sung-geun, directed by Lee Jung-lim, hereinafter 'Doctor X') is a refreshing medical noir.

The drama depicts the activities of Gae Su-jeong (played by Kim Ji-won), the 'mad genius of the operating room' who crushes massive absurdities with genius-level surgical skills that know neither failure nor compromise.

The 'Doctor X' team released the script reading scene on the 31st where a powerful cast gathered. Kim Ji-won, Lee Jung-eun (playing Jang Hee-sook), Son Hyun-joo (playing Bu Seung-gwon), and Kim Woo-seok (playing Park Tae-gyeong) were present.

Gae Su-jeong, played by Kim Ji-won, is a dark hero genius doctor who competes solely on surgical skill. As a surgeon dispatched from a doctor dispatch agency, she overturns the hierarchy of Guseong University where corruption runs rampant with her skill alone.

Kim Ji-won perfected the character obsessed with surgery with an untouchable aura. By fully embodying the twist revealed outside the hospital, she foreshadows a new language of medical dark hero.

Lee Jung-eun plays Jang Hee-sook, the director of the doctor dispatch agency. Hee-sook seems like a materialistic philistine obsessed with money, but is a cunning schemer. She takes on all the behind-the-scenes work of her employee doctor Gae Su-jeong and delivers new fun.

Lee Jung-eun amplified the charm of Jang Hee-sook who coordinates the tension of the drama. With Kim Ji-won, she plans to deliver another kind of fun through chemistry beyond business partnership.

Son Hyun-joo plays 'Bu Seung-gwon,' the hospital director of Guseong University Hospital's branch. Seung-gwon is a person striving hard to revive the collapsing university hospital.

Son Hyun-joo exudes heavy charisma with just eye contact and firmly centers the drama. Additionally, Kim Woo-seok is active as Park Tae-gyeong, a gold-spoon intern doctor.

Tae-gyeong is a person with well-intentioned yet clumsy charm full of ambition. He showcases senior-junior chemistry with Gae Su-jeong and breathes fresh vitality into the drama.

Besides them, Lee Jin-hee, Kim Young-min, Lee Sung-wook, Kwon Seung-woo, Heo Jun-seok, Choi Deok-moon, Kim Jung-young, Kim Young-ah, Choi Gwang-il and others armed with their own inner strength complete the acting synergy.

The production team said, "Despite it being the first reading, it was a scene that heightened immersion to the maximum" and "You can look forward to the birth of a new medical dark hero who will carry on SBS's unbeaten cider universe."

'Doctor X' will air its first episode on October 9.
