BIGBANG, Streaming of Hit Songs Up 333%…New Song 'Big' Sweeps Domestic Charts

Melon released the results of its music big data analysis content 'Data Lab' on the 1st. It revealed that "their new track 'BiiiG' immediately dominated the charts."

In fact, 'BiiiG' swept major music charts domestically and internationally upon its release on the 19th of last month. It claimed the No. 1 spot on both Melon's 'Top 100' and daily chart.

It also dominated other domestic charts. The track ranked No. 1 on Genie and Bugs real-time charts and Vibe's domestic trending chart, and No. 2 on Flo's chart.

Overseas listeners were also captivated. 'BiiiG' hit No. 2 on the iTunes worldwide song chart (as of the 19th). It claimed No. 1 in Japan, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

There is another notable fact. BIGBANG's past hit songs have been resurrected. Songs released 20 years ago are receiving renewed attention and achieving chart resurgence.

Melon explained, "Recently, 'Haru Haru,' 'Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter,' and 'Lies' included in the setlist of the concert 'XX: Cosmos in Goyang' have advanced."

It added, "Streaming from fans reviewing 'BIGBANG's 20th anniversary' ahead of the concert and fans continuing the concert's afterglow has been added to the numbers."

The most popular track is 'Haru Haru.' According to Data Lab, this song averaged 224th place in daily rankings (July) but jumped to 67th on 'Top 100' (as of the 24th).

A heated response poured in after the concert. It stirred nostalgia among fans. Streaming of 'Haru Haru' increased by approximately 298% compared to the July average.

'Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter' rose from 231st in July to 86th on 'Top 100.' 'Lies' also entered the 100th place on the 23rd of last month and climbed to 90th.

Under the BIGBANG name alone, the entire chart moved. When combined, streaming of all their released tracks showed a 333% increase in playcount compared to the previous month.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG is conducting a world tour commemorating their 20th debut anniversary. They will perform at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum in the United States on the 4th to 5th.
