Rookie girl group TUIDE is drawing attention from overseas media. The distinctive music within their mini album 'Tune & Play' has been praised.
American media The Hollywood Reporter published an article on the 24th of last month (Korean time) with the title "Meet TUIDE, the new girl group you're going to love most."
The outlet wrote of TUIDE, "It brings to mind the moment a new generation of K-pop is being born. They already possess refined completeness and a global sensibility."
Rolling Stone Brasil introduced TUIDE as "the arrival of rookies bringing vitality to the K-pop scene." The media gave praise to TUIDE's stage presence.
There was also acclaim for their 'soultronic' style music. Tinvogue said, "It perfectly captures the feeling of cool air and late summer tinged with golden light."
Stardust expressed, "The members' layered vocals serve as the common thread running through the entire album," and added, "Despite various musical attempts, it maintains cohesion."
The Fader also praised it, saying, "Music that makes you want to run straight to the sea and drink something sweet." They picked 'Sun Kiss' as a must-listen song.
Vogue Hong Kong focused on the 'Sun Kiss' music video. It described it as, "The moment you hit play, you fall into a world that is serene yet unpredictable."
TUIDE debuted in the music industry on the 24th of last month. With their debut album 'Tune & Play', they achieved 110,000 first-week sales, entering the all-time top 10 for girl group debut albums.
Not only the title track but the entire album is being loved. A total of 5 tracks are charting on Korean YouTube's 'Trending Music' and Melon's 'Hot 100', among others.
Meanwhile, TUIDE is the first girl group under HIVE Music Group's new label ABD. The group name comes from "Tune the tide."
