[Dispatch=Lee Myung-joo] Actor Ji Chang-wook is returning with a romantic comedy drama.
Production company CJ ENM announced on the 2nd, "Ji Chang-wook will appear in 'Merry Berry Love' with Japanese actress Imada Mio. It will premiere globally for the first time before next month's 7th."
'Merry Berry Love' is a cross-border sweet and tangy romance. Set on a mysterious Japanese island, it tells the story of a man and woman with completely different nationalities and backgrounds becoming entangled.
It is a Korea-Japan collaborative project. CJ ENM has partnered with Japanese terrestrial broadcaster Nippon TV. It will meet viewers worldwide through Nippon TV and Disney+.
Ji Chang-wook plays the role of space planner Yubin. Yubin is a person who has achieved great success in Korea. But he loses everything overnight and heads to Cha Island.
This is his return to romantic comedy after three years. Ji Chang-wook has shown his side as a 'romantic comedy master' through dramas such as 'Suspicious Partner' and 'Welcome to Samdalri'.
Imada Mio plays Karin, his counterpart. She is a farmer who grows strawberries on the island. A character who has lived looking at only strawberries, she becomes deeply entangled with Yubin.
In addition, Nam Yun-soo plays Nam Gu-nam, a work-and-travel nomad who stays on the island for love. Kumada Rinka joins as Mizuno Mari, a tarot fortune teller specializing in romance.
Meanwhile, 'Merry Berry Love' can be watched on Disney+ from the 7th of next month.
