[Dispatch=Reporter Jung Tae-yoon] Actor Kim Soo-hyun has won final victory in a lawsuit against Swiss watch brand Mido to recover a contract fee worth approximately 570 million won.

The Seoul Eastern District Court's Civil Settlement Division 13 (Presiding Judge Choi Su-jin) announced on the 11th that it dismissed all of Mido's lawsuit seeking return of contract fees filed against gold medalists.

Mido did not appeal by the previous day (10th), which was the appeal period, making the first trial's ruling in favor of the defendant final.

Mido signed its first advertising model contract with Kim Soo-hyun in December 2020. In May of last year, it unilaterally terminated the contract amid controversy surrounding Kim Soo-hyun.

Mido filed a lawsuit demanding the return of approximately 570 million won in contract fees corresponding to the remaining period.

On the 27th of last month, the court ruled, "The allegations regarding the late Kim Sae-ron's dating during her minor years are fabricated false revelations. This is not attributable to the model's own fault."

This ruling is the first confirmed judgment in a contract fee refund lawsuit filed against Kim Soo-hyun's side.

Attorney Sunghoon Bang of LKB Pyungsan said, "I believe this result will have a significant impact on other cases as well."

Remaining advertising contract fee refund and penalty cases include Cuckoo Electronics, Clasis, Dinto, Aider, and FromBio.
