IU takes top of Melon 'Top 100'…'From This Star,' charts in 16 countries

[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju] Singer IU topped the major domestic music charts with her comeback.

IU released a new digital single "From This Star" on the 10th. The title track of the same name shot to number one on Melon's 'Hot 100' on its first day of release.

That's not all. "From This Star" entered the 'Top 10' at 10th position on that day before rising to second place. As of 9 a.m. on the 11th, it claimed the top spot on the chart.

IU's new song also took first place on the Bugs real-time chart. On Genie's 'Top 200' as well, "From This Star" was positioned at the top of the chart.

It also captured global listeners. The single reached number 38 on the worldwide iTunes chart. It entered the 'Top Songs' chart in a total of 16 countries/regions.

The new release is IU's new song in about a year and a pre-release track from her sixth studio album. It also includes the double title track "Dear My Crazy Soul."

Meanwhile, the music video for "From This Star" will be released on the 16th at 12 a.m.
