The film "Nowhere to Look" (Director Hong Sang-soo) released its main poster and trailer on the 11th. The release date was confirmed for the 21st of next month.
"Nowhere to Look" tells the story of Sanghee (played by Minhee Kim), the daughter of a divorced family, heading to Jeju Island in search of her mother whom she last saw 10 years ago.
It is Director Hong Sang-soo's 35th feature film. Minhee Kim, Hae-hyo Kwon, Seok-ho Shin, Mi-so Park and others appear in the film. Myeong-gil Choi met Director Hong for the first time on this project.
The film was invited to the 79th Locarno Film Festival on August 13th (Korea time). It won the Director's Award, Best Performance Award (Minhee Kim), and Ecumenical Jury Award.
At the time, Minhee Kim appeared at an official event for the first time since giving birth. She revealed, "While filming the movie, I had to breastfeed and prepare baby food."
She reflected, "(Because of that) it was healthily projected onto Sanghee," and added, "The mindset of joyfully accepting that moment amid the busyness of daily life seemed to come through."
Minhee Kim expressed her affection for Director Hong in her award acceptance remarks. "Thank you for making such a beautiful film like poetry. I will watch it whenever my heart feels troubled and suffocated," she said.
