[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju] Hoshi of SEVENTEEN sustained an injury while serving in the military.
Hoshi announced the knee injury on the 12th through the fan communication platform Weverse. He suffered the injury during practice for the 'Ground Forces Festival' taking place next month.
He explained, "I injured my knee during Ground Forces performance team practice," and added that he "received a diagnosis of a complete anterior cruciate ligament rupture (following detailed examination)."
As surgery and recovery are necessary, he will be unable to participate in scheduled military-related events. Hoshi said, "I apologize to Carats (fanbase name) who have been waiting."
He continued, "Although I cannot be there together, I ask for much support for the Ground Forces performance team with the Taekwondo demonstration unit and Jihoon (Woozi's real name)."
He also reassured fans. "I will receive proper treatment and focus on recovery. I will return in good health soon," he added, saying "please do not worry."
Hoshi enlisted as an active-duty soldier in the Army on September 16th last year. He has been serving exemplarily at the Taekwondo demonstration unit of the Army Military Band Honor Guard Battalion.
In April, he donated 10 million won to the 'Devoted to the Nation Comrade Love Fund' established by the Community Chest of Korea for military service members. He practiced comrade love quietly.
Meanwhile, Hoshi's scheduled discharge date is March 15th next year.
