'Assassin(s)', Actress Lineup… "From Um Ji-won to Shin Hyun-bin"

[Dispatch=Lee Myeong-ju Reporter] Leading actresses of Chungmuro shine in the film "Assassin(s)" (Director Huh Jin-ho).

Distributor Hive Media Corp. revealed the actress lineup on the 15th. "Um Ji-won, Ryu Hye-young, Choi Yu-ri, Shim Eun-kyung, and Shin Hyun-bin appeared in 'Assassin(s),'" it said.

"Assassin(s)" is a mystery thriller. It is based on the assassination of the First Lady, which was broadcast live nationwide on August 15, 1974. It is a story tracing the behind-the-scenes of the incident.

Um Ji-won plays Kim Hee-ja, the wife of Chul-gu (played by Yoo Hae-jin). Hee-ja is a warm-hearted character who takes care not only of her own family but also of Go Dong-bae's (played by Jang Ryul) family.

She said, "Although hidden behind the grand records of history, I wanted to express the courage, solidarity, and familial love of those who endured that era with their whole bodies."

Ryu Hye-young takes on the role of Seo Yun-hee, a junior reporter to Jae-hwan (played by Park Hae-il). A character with a keen and wise demeanor who sets out to find clues to uncover the hidden side of the incident.

Ryu Hye-young said, "Every moment of filming together felt like a dream and was happy. I hope the story of people pursuing the truth with sincerity will resonate with audiences' hearts."

Choi Yu-ri plays Choi Seung-hwa, a choir member who was at the scene of the First Lady assassination. She is the character who becomes the catalyst for Young-il (played by Lee Min-ho) to uncover the truth of the incident.

Shim Eun-kyung plays Lee Kang-ja, an assistant who helps Young-il's coverage from Japan. "I was more than happy to take on a character that adds vitality to the work," she said.

Shin Hyun-bin appears as Gyeong-a, who inadvertently provides Chul-gu with a clue about the incident. Though only a single scene with a short amount of screen time, she displays a deep presence.

The production team said, "In their respective positions, they richly fill the story surrounding the incident," adding "There will be fun in following their emotions amid the tense development."

Meanwhile, "Assassin(s)" is scheduled to open in theaters on the 23rd.
