CORTIS takes legal action over privacy threats… "Unauthorized entry into accommodation, deferred prosecution decision"
by. TaeYun Jeong

[Dispatch=Reporter Jeong Tae-yoon] Two foreign nationals who unlawfully entered CORTIS's residence have been given a conditional prosecution suspension. CORTIS's agency expressed a strong stance on firm action against violations of artist rights.

Big Hit Music stated on the 16th, "We are conducting continuous monitoring and legal action against acts that threaten the members' privacy and safety or violate their rights," and reported on the progress of recent legal proceedings.

The incident occurred in July. CORTIS's agency reported two foreign suspects in connection with the unauthorized entry to the artist's residence and actively cooperated with the investigation.

The suspects admitted to purchasing the artist's residence information illegally through SNS at the scene of the incident and entering without permission. They were sent to the prosecution without detention on charges of joint residential intrusion.

The suspects recently received a conditional prosecution suspension. Big Hit Music emphasized, "We take the intrusion of residences and the trading of personal information very seriously. We plan to proceed with an objection process accordingly."

Legal action against malicious online posts continues. The agency stated, "We are conducting ongoing legal action against various violations of members' rights that occur online."

Additionally, through constant monitoring of major domestic and international communities, portals, SNS, and music sites, as well as through fan reports, related materials are being collected comprehensively.

The agency explained, "While there may be various opinions and criticism regarding the artist and musical works, we plan to take all available legal measures against acts that violate members' rights."

The agency is also strengthening responses to privacy violations at airports and on aircraft. Specific examples cited include boarding the same flight with illegally obtained airline ticket information to take covert photographs, attempting physical contact with resting artists, and stalking.

CORTIS's agency added, "We are collecting evidence against individuals who repeatedly engage in stalking behavior, and plan to take necessary legal action."

Reports can be submitted through the 'HIVE Artist Rights Violation Report Site' (protect.hybecorp.com). Big Hit Music promised, "We will do our best to protect the rights and safety of members both online and offline."
