Hwasa Places Second at 'Rock in Rio'…"Following Elton John, Greatest Stage"

[Dispatch=Myeong-ju Lee] Singer Hwasa proved her presence as a 'representative K-pop diva.'

Brazilian media outlet 'G1' selected and announced the best performances among artists who participated in the music festival 'Rock in Rio 2026' on the 16th (Korea time).

Hwasa made it into the top 10. She ranked second, following pop star Elton John. The outlet explained that "Hwasa was the first K-pop female singer to perform there."

It added, "She took the stage at 'Rock in Rio' with a song bearing her own name. She proved herself to be a pop diva through outstanding vocal abilities and presence."

Hwasa previously took the stage at the main stage 'Palco Mundo' of 'Rock in Rio 2026' held at Rio de Janeiro Olympic Park in Brazil on the 12th.

She delivered a total of 13 songs live over approximately one hour. With 80,000 spectators in attendance, she heated up the venue with powerful performances and charisma.

After the performance, she shared her thoughts, saying, "I am well aware of the history and weight of 'Rock in Rio,'" and "I have been waiting so long for the moment to stand on this stage."

She continued, "I was excited at the thought of showing the performance to global fans, and I was moved by their support. I hope to meet more fans going forward."

Meanwhile, Hwasa achieved a perfect all-kill on major domestic music charts earlier this year with 'Good Goodbye,' which experienced a reverse run.
