by. Hanuel Yoo

[Dispatch=Yuha Reporter] The film "Assassination" (directed by Huh Jin-ho) has completed its world premiere screening at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The "Assassination" team held its world premiere screening at the 51st Toronto International Film Festival on the 17th (Korean time). Director Huh Jin-ho and actors Yu Hae-jin, Park Hae-il, and Minho attended.

All four public screenings of "Assassination" at this film festival sold out. Director Huh and the actors expressed their gratitude for the warm applause following the screening.

Director Huh said, "It is a film made with much care together with many people, and it is special to meet audiences once again" and "Thank you for the warm response."

Yu Hae-jin also expressed his joy. "It was special to watch the film with audiences in a large theater. It feels good that people seemed to fully enjoy the work," he said.

Park Hae-il said, "We will soon meet audiences in Korea as well. Before that, it was special to directly meet local audiences through the Toronto Film Festival," conveying his emotion.

Minho also said, "I am thrilled and happy to visit Toronto for 'Assassination.' Thank you for the warm welcome. I will continue to cherish the energy you have sent," and greeted everyone.

Following the film screening, praise from industry figures continued. Director Jin Ga-shin of "Intimate Strangers" evaluated it as "a film that breaks away from familiar territory and succeeds perfectly, like a slam dunk."

Anita Lee, the Toronto International Film Festival's chief programming officer, recalled, "The audience was completely immersed in the screen. The theater was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Everyone did not hold back their praise."

"Assassination" traces the suspicions and background of the first lady's shooting incident that occurred during the 29th Liberation Day celebration on August 15, 1974. It follows the whereabouts of two missing shots among six gunshots.

"Assassination" opens domestically on the 23rd.
