"'Odyssey' Surpasses 11 Million Viewers…47 Consecutive Days at No. 1 in Advance Reservations"

[Dispatch=Lee Myung-ju Reporter] The film "Odyssey" (directed by Christopher Nolan) has surpassed the 11 million viewer mark.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticket sales system, "Odyssey" recorded a cumulative audience of 11,003,000 as of 11:41 a.m. on the 18th.

Despite more than a month having passed since its release, the box office momentum remains strong. It is maintaining the No. 1 position in advance reservation rates for 47 consecutive days, including today, at 24.1%.

It has gained an advantage over highly anticipated domestic releases targeting the Chuseok holiday period. It surpassed "Assassins," "The Intern," and "Tazza: The Ballad of Beelzebub."

"Odyssey" is also on the verge of achieving the 5th highest-grossing foreign film of all time. The gap with "Avengers: Infinity War's" record (11.21 million) has narrowed further.

The film tells the story of hero Odysseus (played by Matt Damon), who triumphed in the Trojan War, overcoming trials to return to his kingdom.

Matt Damon takes on the role of Odysseus, king of Ithaca. Anne Hathaway plays his wife Penelope, and Tom Holland plays his son Telemachus.
