[Dispatch=Park Hye-jin Reporter] BTS, BLACKPINK, KATSEYE, and CORTIS are expected to be active at this year's VMA.

The '2026 MTV Video Music Awards' (hereinafter '2026 VMA') announced additional nominees in the social category on the 18th (local time). When combined with nominees in the main categories announced last month, K-pop artists have been evenly nominated across multiple categories.

Lisa received the most nominations among Korean artists with 4 category nominations. These include 'Best Pop', 'Best K-pop', 'Best Cinematography', and 'Best Editing'.

BTS has been nominated in 3 categories. They will compete for trophies in 'Song of the Year', 'Best K-pop', and 'Best Group'. In particular, in the 'Song of the Year' category, they compete with 'Huntrix' from Netflix's 'K-pop Demon Hunters'.

BLACKPINK is competing for awards in 'Best K-pop' and 'Best Group'. BLACKPINK received the 'Best Group' trophy in 2023 and 2025.

LE SSERAFIM was nominated for 'Best K-pop' with 'Spaghetti'. They compete against BTS, BLACKPINK, and others. J-hope from BTS is featured on this song.

KATSEYE is a team with notable activity in the United States. They are competing in 3 categories: 'Best K-pop', 'Best Choreography', and 'Best Group'.

CORTIS has been nominated for 'Best New Artist', 'Best K-pop', and 'Best Group'. Just a year after debut, they stand shoulder to shoulder with senior groups.

The '2026 VMA' will be held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, USA on the 27th. It can be viewed live on CBS, MTV, and Paramount+.
